Ruan Vermaak Welcomes You

Come Explore

Welcome to my portfolio. I am thrilled you’ve come to visit my showcase of work that I’ve compiled over the years, which includes a combination of university assignments and personal projects. Take a look and feel free to get in touch if you’d like to discuss potential opportunities to work together.

My Projects

Here you will find some of the projects I have worked on, most of which were part of an assignment. Please keep in mind that some projects are still a work in progress.

I mainly use Blender for my 3D modelling, although I have used 3DS Max in the past. 3D modelling is more of a hobby to me and will only work on it when I am in the mood.

This is where I spend most of my time. I love programming and I love games. I am always eager to learn more about programming, whether it is C# or C++ to make games or even exploring Windows PowerShell.

About Me

I have a passion for playing video games as well as making them. I play many different genres of games, but among my favourite are games with a rich story, graphically beautiful games, racing games and simulators. I first studied a Diploma of Interactive Digital Media (Game Design) at TAFE in 2016. In 2017, I started studying a Bachelor of Serious Games at the University of the Sunshine Coast and graduated in 2020.

Although I have studied some 3D art, my main focus is on programming. I am very comfortable and familiar with C# (C-Sharp) in the Unity game engine. I have also studied C++ in the Unreal Engine. I have found that I am very proficient at learning new programming languages and have no issue learning new ones.
